Emily Howard is a gifted, young composer with an original vision. Her music explores the tensions existing on the boundaries between stasis and movement, going from moments of great stillness to sudden eruptions of lascerating intensity, or doing the opposite. Emily's works often proceed in unpredictable ways, with interruptions and silences which are both dramatic and unsettling. The overall impression is of a deeply personal and intense music.
